Without ads on the endpapers, and without the Chapman and Hall catalogue. This was set up in London from the American proof sheets in an attempt to preempt English piracies. The American edition, (in one volume), was published about a week later. A little chipping to spine ends, light rubbing, slightly cocked. Edges dust-soiled. An attractive, Very Good copy.
