Dated American Hotel, Columbus, Feby 12, 1838. Signed by nine Whig men asking the judge to ignore a letter he recently received from a Mr. Vernon, "....we take the liberty of assuring you that it is our belief that it is the work of some political enemy intended to impugn us in your opinion." The nine include Columbus Delano, Ohio congressman, rancher, lawyer, who was prominent in discouraging slavery and protecting the rights of Indians. Two conjugate leaves, one page, another is for the address. Folded for mailing and begining to separated at a few of the folds. In Very Good condition.
