Dated Milan, 4 June, 1804, to an unknown lady, in French, expressing in lavish terms his admiration and gratitude. Paraphrasing, "Will you permit me, a poor philosopher, an admirer of your talent, though unworthy to be admitted in the temple of muses, to proffer my gratitude and rememberance to the person who provided him with genius, wisdom, kindness." In a postscript he asks to be remembered to her father and brother. In this year he published the important "Comparative History of philosophical systems, considered in relation to the principles of human knowledge". Two conjugate leaves, one page, docketed on page four, in Fine condition.
