Edinburgh: Privately Printed, 1885. A reprint. Original printed wrappers, one of 75 large paper copies (22 cm); there were 275 small paper copies (18 cm). George Johnstone was a British naval officer, active in politics. He served as Governor of West Florida for three years beginning in 1764. In this speech he urges the government not to tax the American colonies and not to send troops to enforce the British will. "You blame the Americans, but do not consider the next step which your conduct drives them to" (p.17). Some wear and staining to the wrappers, but a Very Good copy.
