On the New York "World" letterhead, dated Aug. 28, 1887, to Edward E. Kidder, Dockstader's, New York. Thanking him for his note, he is "gratified to know that you are having fun with me...I hope I may be spared to you and to the world of poesy for many years yet." This is Bill Nye, the journalist, humorist writer and lecturer. Edward E. Kidder was a popular playwright and lyricist. Lew Dockstader opened a theater on Broadway in 1886; he was a blackface minstrel and vaudeville star. One page, 10 lines. Several folds, a Very Good letter.
