Andover: Printed by William H. Wardwell, 1848. First edition. Original printed wrappers, 30 pp. With a presentation inscription, signed, from Samuel Farrar to Samuel T. Armstrong. Phebe Farrar was a grand daughter of Jonathan Edwards. Her father, Timothy was the oldest son of Jonathan Edwards. She grew up with her cousin, Aaron Burr, who was raised in her family after being orphaned at age two. Samuel Farrar, born in Lexington, with Leonard Woods helped found the Andover Theological Seminary. He was Trustee and major donor at the Phillips Academy in Andover for many years. His brother, John Farrar, was professor of mathematics at Harvard. Removed from a bound volume, rear wrapper lacking, else Fine.
