Letterhead of Harvard College Library, where Winsor was librarian. One sheet folded to make four pages, three are used. Answering a question about the practicality of producing a dictionary of "pseudonyms, anonyms, etc.". He mentions a project by "old Mr. Laing of the Signet Library....but who knows when it will see the light, if ever?" John Laing was working with a list entrusted to him by the late Samuel Halkett. He died in 1880; his daughter finished the "Dictionary of Anonymous and Pseudonymous Literature of Great Britain" (4v., 1882-1888). Winsor wrote many books of history. A Fine letter.
