The Corsair: London: John Murray, 1819. First edition, second issue (Wise, 1928, p.43). (A) 6, B-G8, H2. Lacks the final signature, "I", which, according to Wise, makes this an "early variant" of the second issue. Murray was in such a hurry to meet the demand for this that he wouldn't wait for the final signature to be made ready. Mazeppa: London: John Murray, 1819. First edition, second issue. (A)2, B-E8, F4. These are bound together in early half leather, gilt, over cloth, 8 3/8 inches tall. Some rubbing, cloth a little bubbled, spine panel bearing the lettering chipped. These titles are not rare; by this time in his career Byron was more famous than Elvis. A Very Good copy.
Title: The Corsair, A Tale. bound with: Mazeppa, A Poem.
