The second Winter edition, containing the same thirteen stories as the first, called The Poems and Stories of Fitz-James O'Brien, Boston: James Osgood, 1881 (Wolle, 1944). O'Brien was an early fantasy/science fiction writer. He and his friend, William Winter, frequented Pfaff's cellar in New York along with Walt Whitman and other "Bohemian" writers for the newspapers and journals. Original green cloth, gilt. With the bookplate of Robert Young, Jr., Winter's great-grandson. Some wear and rubbing, but Very Good.
