Six notes or note cards, in original envelopes, none bearing stamps, sending invitations to Charles Dana or responding to invitations from him, plus an empty envelope "Introducing Mr. Hayes" to Dana. In brief: A printed card announcing Mrs. G.N. Miller's "At Home" on a specific day; Mrs. Parish sends a printed invitation; Mr. Gregg, of the "U.S. Legation", sends two, one a regret and the other an acceptance; a written invitation from "Mrs. Talmadge"; Mrs. Benson writes to promote a "Raffle for the Madeira Poor". Dana was at Brook Farm, co-edited its weekly paper, "The Harbinger", and became part owner of the "New York Sun" in 1868. Most envelopes soiled, generally in Very Good condition.
