A small (3 x 4 3/4 inches) sheet with a cryptic (to this cataloguer) printed directional note: "Train No. 21 From Zephyr Cove, Nevada". A guess - there was a Southern Pacific train No. 21 that ran from Reno to San Francisco ("Biennial Reports of the Railroad and Public Service Commissions of Nevada", 1919-1920, p.32); this sort of slip may have been intended to accompany shipments from a Zephyr Cove shipper to the nearest station on the S.P. line, perhaps Truckee. A penciled note on the back: "Pete, Mrs. Blake wants to see you"; soiled, folded twice, some tenderness at the folds. In Very Good condition.
