Dated Cambridge, Aug. 15, 1845, to an unknown correspondent, probably a bookseller. Sparks starts with a discussion of a lost package, eventually freeing his correspondent of responsibility, then says he wants "...everything relating to La Salle, Tonty, and their associates; and also the early voyageurs Jacques Quartier, Champlain, etc., if anything should come in your way." One page, 18 lines, on fragile paper. Mounted to a larger sheet, some glue stains showing, a little edge wear and toning, old bookseller's entry pasted at the bottom. A Good letter.
