Original pale green cloth, decorated in silver, red, and gilt, and blind, illustrated, top edge stained, others uncut, 176 pp. The binding was designed by Alice Cordelia Morse. Signed and inscribed by Fuller"Written Summer 1891 -", then he quotes his own words: " '...having seldom read a book that seemed too short.' p.67. Chicago. April 1900". Alice C. Morse was a prominent book cover designer in the late 1800's. She had worked at the Lewis Comfort Tiffany studios from 1885-1889 -- she is credited with designing at least 70 stained glass pieces during that time (Dubansky, Mindell. "Alice Cordelia Morse (1863–1961)". In Heilbrunn Timeline of Art History. New York: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2000). Some finger soiling, spine rather darkened, some wear. The half title, which bears the inscription, is detached; rear endpapers beginning to crack; edges dust soiled. A Good copy, only.
