Boston: Lee and Shepard, 1873-1874. Seventeen issues, all in original printed wrappers, persimmon in color. Assorted numbers from volumes 13-16 of this monthly, the first January, 1873, the last October, 1874. Some short runs but with lots of gaps, a complete run of these four volumes would be 24 issues. William Taylor Adams wrote under the pseudonym "Oliver Optic", mostly for a juvenile audience, especially for boys. During the period of the present issues the subtitle of his magazine changed from "Our Girls and Boys" to "For Young and Old". Three issues with spines re-inforced with old transparent tape; three lack the rear wrapper; a couple with eroded spines; about half in nice condition.
