Dated New Britain, Sept. 13, '71. To and un-named correspondent, who is to speak twice on temperance in New Britain within the week, and explaining a few unfortunate restrictions, for which he apologizes. Burritt (1810-1879) was a social reformer, interested mostly in anti-slavery, temperance, and world peace through universal brotherhood and international arbitration. He was named U.S. Consul to Birmingham, England, by Abraham Lincoln. A half-sheet, two pp., almost 200 words. Very Good.
