New York: Harcourt, Brace, (1946). First edition. Original blue cloth. Presentation copy: "To the Wonderful (Leonard) Lyons Family with the fond regard of Bill Saroyan. Oct 16 1948 NYC". Saroyan and Lyons, who wrote a column, "The Lyon's Den" for the New York Post, were long-time friends who helped promote each other's careers. Worn and soiled, glue stains on the front pastedown and half-title leaf from mounted mementos, no longer present, dust jacket lacking. A sound copy but Fair, only.

Dated 2727 Taraval Street, San Francisco California, July 22, 1946. To Leonard Lyons, who wrote a column for the New York Post, "The Lyon's Den". Wishing Lyons and his wife, Sylvia, a pleasant European holiday, and declining Lyons' invitation ".....to do a guest column , but I am afraid I cannot do one. Anything I've got to say I feel I ought to say in my books. Signed "Bill". One page, folded for mailing. A big mounting stain, else Fine.

Dated 348 Carl Street, San Francisco, October 24, 1938. To Leonard Lyons, mostly in the third person, with biographical material and talk about his recent productions, as if ready to be "cut and pasted" into Lyons' New York Post column, "The Lyon's Den". Saroyan and Lyons were long-time friends who boosted each other's careers for many years. Two pages taped together, about 750 words, heavily corrected in holograph by Saroyan, and signed "Bill". Heavily stained from mounting glue and tape, some wear. Folded twice. In Good condition.
